The Musical Theatre Pit Orchestra at the Dana School of Music provides instrumental accompaniment for the bi-annual YSU University Theatre musical production. Open to student musicians, the ensemble varies in instrumentation, size, and style based on the demands of each production, ranging from rock and jazz ensembles to full classical orchestras. Members develop collaborative ensemble skills, technical proficiency, and gain experience performing a diverse repertoire rooted in the rich tradition of American musical theatre.
