Directed by Dr. Kate Ferguson, the YSU Pep Band performs at all of the YSU men’s and women’s home basketball games, as well as Horizon League Conference tournament games. The band's instrumentation includes flutes, clarinets, mellophones, trumpets, trombones, baritones, saxophones, tubas, drums, auxiliary percussion, and bass guitar. Members are paid a stipend per game for participation.

We host an annual “Jam the Gym” event, which is open to all high school musicians. We also perform for numerous on-campus and local events.
