Jazz Combo offers an intimate setting for honing improvisational and rhythm section techniques, along with musical interaction and historical contextualization. Like the Jazz Ensemble, the Combo also regularly performs pieces by significant jazz composers and improvisers, alongside student and faculty compositions. This group, which also requires an audition, allows students to focus more closely on the collaborative aspects of jazz performance.
