The Dana Opera Ensemble is an inclusive and dynamic opportunity available to all students at Youngstown State University by audition. During the fall semester, the ensemble prepares and performs a captivating scenes program, while in the spring, the focus shifts to the preparation and presentation of a full-length opera.

The Dana Opera Ensemble offers invaluable experiences in role mastery, diction, and character development. Students refine their vocal technique while also learning to navigate the complexities of stage performance—cultivating the ability to interact with fellow performers, choreograph movement, and seamlessly follow the conductor's guidance while embodying their character. Through this comprehensive approach, students gain a profound understanding of opera as both an art form and a collaborative process.
