Ficocelli Trio to perform as part of Music at Noon Series

YSU’s Dana School of Music will welcome the Ficocelli Trio as the next performer in its ever-popular Music at Noon Series Wednesday, October 1, 2025, beginning at 12:15 PM at the McDonough Museum of Art. Bringing together three exceptional artists from different continents, this free concert will feature performances of beloved works by artists Haydn and Dvořák, among others.

University Theatre to open 2025-26 season with “Arsenic and Old Lace”

YSU’s University Theatre will kick off its 2025-26 production season with “Arsenic and Old Lace,” to be held in the YSU Ford Theater October 3 – 5 and 10 – 12, 2025. Directed by senior lecturer Todd Dicken, this comedy will follow the Brewster family as they grapple with loyalty to each other and obeyance to the laws. Guest artist Ron Copeland to present as part of Department of Art Lecture Series

YSU’s Department of Art will welcome guest artist Ron Copeland, who is currently exhibiting in the Judith Rae Solomon Gallery, to present as part of the Department of Art Lecture Series Thursday, September 18, 2025, at 4:30 PM at the McDonough Museum of Art. A self-taught multidisciplinary artist, Copeland’s work spans sign painting, assemblage, murals, printmaking, photography, and sculpture.

Ableton Live Certified Trainers to bring inclusive music-making workshop to YSU

YSU’s Dana School of Music will welcome Ableton Live Certified Trainer and artist Feral Kitty to YSU for a groundbreaking workshop and performance Wednesday, September 24, 2025, from 10:30 AM – 5:30 PM at the McDonough Museum of Art. The event, titled “Everyone Can Make Music,” will combine keynote storytelling, live electronic performance, and practical demonstrations within Ableton Live.

McDonough Museum to open fall season with four dynamic exhibitions

The McDonough Museum of Art has announced that it will open its fall schedule with four dynamic exhibitions by visiting artists Arron Foster, Michael Boyd Roman, Justin Sorensen, and Emerging Artist Aislinn Janek. The exhibits will be on display beginning Tuesday, September 2, through Saturday, October 25, 2025.

University Theatre to showcase versatile lineup for 2025-26 production season

YSU’s University Theatre has announced a versatile lineup of plays and musicals for its 2025-26 production season, including “Arsenic & Old Lace,” “Be More Chill,” “Episode 26,” and “Kiss Me, Kate.” The season will begin Friday, October 3, with the production of “Arsenic & Old Lace.”

YSU Marching Pride announces fall semester schedule of events

The Youngstown State University Marching Pride has launched its fall semester event schedule, kicking off with “Meet the Pride” Friday, August 22, 2025, at 3:00 PM at Stambaugh Stadium. Other events featuring the Marching Pride will include all home YSU football games, the Ice Castle Classic Band Show, and a performance by the Marching Pride Alumni Band.

Copeland, a self-taught multidisciplinary artist, creates works spanning sign painting, assemblage, murals, printmaking, photography, and illuminated sculpture.

Summer Festival of the Arts to return to YSU for 27th annual event

The Summer Festival of the Arts, one of the region’s premier summertime traditions, will return to YSU July 12 and 13, 2025, for its 27th annual event. The free two-day festival brings together artists, performers, and community members for a vibrant showcase of creativity and culture on YSU’s campus.

McDonough Museum’s summer slate to begin with four exhibits by guest artists

YSU’s McDonough Museum of Art will begin its summer slate of events with four exhibits by visiting guest artists beginning Friday, May 30, through Saturday, July 19, 2025. Artists Jason Van Hoose, Jeffrey S. Piper, and Mike Egan, in addition to the Inspiring Minds program, will present their own unique exhibits.
