Cliffe College of Creative Arts Living Learning Community

Are you planning to earn a degree or pursue a minor in Art, Music, or Theatre? Are you a member of the Marching Pride planning to major in another subject? Are you a student with a strong interest in art, music, or theatre? Are you thinking about living in YSU on-campus housing? If so, we invite you to join the Cliffe College of Creative Arts Living Learning Community (LLC).

Why should I choose to live in the CCCA LLC?

The Cliffe College LLC is designed to bring together residential students from majors across Cliffe College to promote creativity, collaboration, community, and academic success while students pursue their passions.

Through the LLC, you will:

  • form connections with peers who share similar academic and personal interests;
  • enjoy increased interactions with faculty and staff;
  • participate in special social events and field trips; and
  • have the convenience of on-site Academic Advising and tutors

With close proximity to Bliss Hall, you’ll never be too far away from your classes and other resources. It’s equally important to note that your Resident Assistant will be a Cliffe College major or someone who shares the love of the arts and can be a valuable resource, especially for students in their first and second years of study. Make the Cliffe College of Creative Arts Living Learning Community your home away from home!

About Wick House

Wick House, a restored mansion on the campus of YSU, will serve as the home base for the Cliffe College Living Learning Community, offering 24/7 access to community study and practice spaces, a graphic design-friendly computer lab, an art project space, and a theatre and music rehearsal space. 21 Living Learning Community students will live in Wick House, and other members of the community will live in Kilcawley House. Honors College students who are interested in participating in the Living Learning Community may do so while living in Cafaro House.

Amenities for CCCA LLC students

As a converted mansion, each room in Wick House is different in both shape and size. Room options include two single rooms, six two-person rooms, and two three-person rooms. Dependent on student choice, each room will feature built-in storage, old fireplaces, and either private or shared bathrooms, although bathrooms are typically only shared by two or three rooms of residents.

In addition, the LLC also features:

  • a laundry room in the basement with both washers and dryers;
  • a public kitchen with a sink, oven, stovetop, and microwave;
  • a recreation space with tables, a couch, and a TV; and
  • computers with printing capabilities

Each resident will receive an extra-long twin bed and mattress, storage for their belongings in the form of a combined wardrobe/drawer set or one of each, and a desk or table with a desk chair. Each room also has a MicroFridge unit (combined refrigerator, microwave, and freezer) for the room residents' shared use.
