YSU’s Jazz Ensemble to present concert featuring jazz classics and new music

YSU’s Jazz Studies Area will present a concert by the Jazz Ensemble, led by professor of music Kent J. Engelhardt, Monday, April 14, at 7:30 PM at YSU’s Ford Theater, located in Bliss Hall.

The ensemble will perform “The Blues Machine” by Sammy Nestico, “Green Piece” by Maria Schneider, and “Make It Happen” by YSU undergraduate student and pianist Aaron White. Vocalist Elizabeth Jadue will join the ensemble as she sings “Something’s Gotta Give” by Johnny Mercer and “Mood Indigo” by Duke Ellington.

Jadue will then be joined by Luke Walters on vocals to perform “Knock on Wood” by Eddie Floyd. Jadue will also sing “Rosanna” by Toto as arranged by YSU undergraduate student and lead alto saxophonist Andrea Richard.

Entry to this event is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the Wick Avenue Deck (M30) for a $5 fee payable in cash only.
