Study with internationally acclaimed faculty
As a student at DSM, you’ll be mentored by and learn from our distinguished faculty, who perform with eminent ensembles and as featured soloists around the world. Through these activities, our string faculty bring a wealth of current knowledge to their pedagogy.
At the heart of our music degrees is the studio experience, which includes weekly private lessons and seminars with your instrumental teacher, as well as large and chamber ensembles and small group coaching in solo, chamber, orchestral, and jazz repertoire. Students’ artistic and educational experiences are further enhanced through regular performances and masterclasses by esteemed guest artists. Recent residencies have included the Harlem Quartet, Cuarteto Latinoamericano, the Rhythm Method, Dierdot Quartet, and many others annually.
Whether you’re pursuing an undergraduate or advanced degree in strings at the Dana School of Music, you’ll be equipped with the skills necessary to succeed as a performer, educator, composer, sound and recording engineer, and numerous other areas in which to position yourself for the countless opportunities in our communities, schools, and today’s creative industries. We hope you’ll consider joining us—we look forward to supporting your success!
