Grammy Award-winning classical tenor to conclude Pipino season

Grammy Award-winning classical tenor Karim Sulayman will perform the final concert of the 2021-22 Pipino Performing Arts season alongside pianist Yi-heng Yang Saturday, March 16, 2022 at 7:30 PM. The duo’s most recent recording debuted at number one on the Billboard Traditional Classical Chart and was included on The New York Times’ list of best classical music of 2020.

University Theatre to present concert version of “The Music Man”

YSU’s University Theatre will present a concert version of the Tony Award-winning musical comedy “The Music Man” February 25 – 27, 2022 in the YSU Ford Theater, located in YSU’s Bliss Hall. The musical follows traveling salesman Harold Hill as he cons locals into buying instruments and uniforms for a boys’ band he promises to organize but has no idea how to teach.

The Donald P. Pipino Performing Arts Series will welcome Cuarteto Latinoamericano, one of the world's most renowned Latin American classical music ensembles, to campus for a performance Saturday, February 19, 2022 at the Ford Family Recital Hall in the DeYor Performing Arts Center in downtown Youngstown, Ohio. David Perrico (B.M., ’02), a Youngstown native and a graduate from YSU’s Dana School of Music, has been selected as the new front man for the Raiders House Band. As part of the group, Perrico will play in front of 65,000 fans in the Raiders’ new state-of-the-art building Allegiant Stadium.

The ensemble will perform music arranged by YSU alumnus Mike Kamuf (B.M., B.M.E., ’91).
