Graphic + Interactive Design (in-person)

Develop multifaceted skills

The in-person Graphic + Interactive Design (G+ID) program at YSU provides students with the creative processes and skills necessary for professional careers in fields such as identity systems, package design, motion and web design, and creative direction. Based primarily on computer technology, students investigate ways of solving complex visual problems through the use of both print and interactive media.

G+ID students learn the formal principles, processes, and vocabulary of print and interface design as well as graphic design history. They develop critical thinking skills and visual conceptualization through real-world design projects, including the essentials of written and verbal presentations. Community projects, design competitions, and internships in surrounding areas provide supplemental opportunities. Participation in the local student chapter of the national design organization AIGA provides further professional connections and experience. Students also participate in a Junior Portfolio Review and an annual Senior Exhibition.
