YSU's Department of Art is a regional and national leader in preparing students for careers in the creative industries. Accredited by the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD), our student-centered programs are led by nationally and internationally recognized artist-educators. They guide students through experiential-based coursework that both hones their skills and encourages interdisciplinary exploration, offering unique opportunities to broaden students' artistic horizons.

To prepare you for the multiple opportunities in your creative future, you'll gain experience working with a range of media, which is essential in the visual arts industry. As part of your initial studies, you'll enroll in our Foundations Program. Our faculty will equip you with fundamental skills across multiple disciplines, and you'll be prepared to pursue one of our degrees or minors.
