NASAD Accreditation

Youngstown State University art and design degrees and majors are accredited through the National Association of Schools of Art and Design (NASAD). NASAD is the premier accrediting body for art schools and colleges.

NASAD establishes national standards for undergraduate and graduate degrees and other credentials for art and design and art or design-related disciplines and provides assistance to institutions and individuals engaged in artistic, scholarly, educational, and other art or design-related endeavors. YSU is one of 363 accredited conservatories, colleges, and universities recognized by NASAD. The Department of Art was reviewed by NASAD in 2016, with a ten-year renewal until 2026.
