Tau Beta Pi welcomes new members to its chapter.

Youngstown State's chapter of Tau Beta Pi, also known as the Ohio Lambda Chapter, is an honor society for engineering students who choose to go above and beyond in their academics and extracurricular activities.

The Dean of STEM has been making an effort to revamp the hallways of Moser Hall to catch the eye of students and visitors with its new appeal and new feel.

Tyler Leibengood is a fifth-year undergraduate student from Clyde, Ohio. He is double majoring in Physics and in Mathematics.

Tim Daugherty is an alum from Beaver, Pennsylvania. He received his bachelors and masters in mechanical engineering and his Ph.D in materials sciences and engineering from YSU. He finished his Ph.D in August of 2020.

YSU STEM is excited to introduce Dr. Sahar Ehsani, the first female professor of Civil and Environmental Engineer since the founding of the STEM College in 2007.

Through association with the art department, engineering faculty and students are able to conduct research using metal casting and 3D printed sand molds in the Bliss Hall Foundry.

As we focus this month on women in STEM, we also spotlight organizations that are led and run by female students in the STEM College. At YSU, three organizations have this focus: The Association for Women in Mathematics; The Society of Women Engineers;Phi Sigma Rho.

This month we spotlight two new faculty members who have joined the STEM College over the last several months: Dr. Nazanin Naderi and Dr. Carmen Panaitof.
