Tim Daugherty is an alum from Beaver, Pennsylvania. He received his bachelors and masters in mechanical engineering and his Ph.D in materials sciences and engineering from YSU. He finished his Ph.D in August of 2020.

Upon graduating with his Ph.D. in August, Dr. Daugherty made the decision to put his job search on hold in order to fill a staffing need in Mechanical Engineering. He spent this last fall semester teaching courses, and for that we are incredibly grateful! After the Fall semester concluded, Dr. Daughtery found a job and will be starting his new position as a research scientist at ExOne this month. 

During his time as a student, Dr. Daugherty worked on some cutting-edge projects with excellent researchers.  He was ecstatic that YSU was able to improve the 3D printing research via government grants, which allowed undergraduate and graduate education to thrive.
