Hiring around 50 interns a year nationwide, Nucor has very well-structured intern/Co-Op programs for students from the day they start until their last day. Nucor is considered in the Steel industry and are diversified in their products from upstream to downstream. YSU is one of Nucor’s primary schools to attend and hire from so they make sure they are there for every EXPO. They have an excellent internship program and students do not have to have experience to be accepted into their internship program. The company does not require students to register their internship for a course credit, but if it is required for a student they are willing to look into it. Most of Nucor interns turn into full time teammates. A Nucor representative stated, “We consider our internship a long interview to give us a chance to know the candidate better”. With more than 50 locations in North America, Nucor is mainly located in North America (USA, Canada, & Mexico). Nucor provides a wide range of products such as: Downstream – Products such as joists, metal buildings, Cold finish, steel mesh, reinforcing products, and Upstream: their mills provide products such as steel sheets, bars, plates, beams, etc. It comes to no surprise that Nucor has been on the Fortune 500 list more than 151 times. In 2019 they ranked #120.
