The National Science Foundation has awarded Dr. Cory Brozina his third award for $300,000 for a 3-year research project entitled "Studying Student Support and Success Experiences to Improve Persistence of Nontraditional Students in Engineering".

Geology Program Receives Major Geophysical Instrument Donations

The Department of Mathematics and Statistics has been awarded a National Science Foundation Research Experience for Undergraduate Students grant for a project titled: "The Youngstown State University Beginning Undergraduates' Mathematical research Preparation, (YSU-BUMP)".

The American Institute of Professional Geologists student chapter was established in 2016. Its purpose is to provide students with opportunities to interact directly with professional geologists of northeastern Ohio.

Academic Affairs Announces Distinguished Professorship Awards

Last year, Boardman Advanced Biology Teacher Heather Moran was named “Teacher of the Year” by the Ohio Federation of Soil and Water Conservation Districts.  This year, she has a new title--  Book Author!

Dr. Suresh Sharma, originally from Nepal, completed his BS in Civil Engineering from Pulchowk Engineering Campus, Nepal in 2000, and also MS in Water Resources Engineering from the same University. Dr. Sharma completed his PhD from Auburn University, Auburn, AL in 2012. Before coming to YSU, Dr.

Calibration Services, Inc. is an ISO 17025 Accredited laboratory committed to working with the YSU STEM program in an attempt to help the Engineering laboratories maintain, calibrate, and improve the operation of their mechanical and process testing equipment.
