About

Justin Kohan enjoys a varied career as an orchestral musician, soloist, chamber musician, and instructor. He currently serves as Co-Principal Trumpet of the ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, Principal Trumpet of the Akron Symphony Orchestra, the Canton Symphony Orchestra, and the Westmoreland Symphony Orchestra, and is a member of the Grand Teton Music Festival.

Kohan appears regularly with many groups around the United States, including the Pittsburgh Symphony Orchestra, Chicago’s Music of the Baroque, and the Columbus Symphony. He can be heard on many recordings, including the Grammy nominated Kodály: Háry János Suitewith the Buffalo Philharmonic, and Great Performanceson PBS with the Erie Philharmonic. 

He holds a Bachelor of Music degree from the New England Conservatory, and a Master of Music degree as well as an Advanced Musical Studies Certificate from Carnegie Mellon University.
