Which type of degree is right for you?

The Cliffe College of Creative Arts offers four types of undergraduate degrees in multiple areas of study, and graduate programs in music. Each degree type has specific requirements that are outlined in YSU’s Course Catalogor the University Graduate College Catalog.

In addition, the College offers numerous minors and certificates that students from other majors across campus may earn while they're pursuing undergraduate degrees in other colleges.

 

Undergraduate degrees

Undergraduate degree requirements are detailed in the University Undergraduate Catalog.

 

The college offers Associate of Applied Science degrees in Audio + Music Production and Web & Digital Design (this program is offered collaboratively between the Departments of Art and Computer Science and Information Systems).

The college offers Associate of Arts degrees in art.

The College offers a Bachelor of Arts degree in theatre.

The college offers Bachelor of Fine Arts degrees in actinggraphic design, musical theatrestudio art, and theatre design tech.

Admission to the Acting and Musical Theatre concentrations is by audition only.

Upon successful completion of Foundation coursework, all studio art majors must complete a Foundation Portfolio Review. To continue in the Art program and before they may register for further studio art courses, students must pass the Foundation Portfolio Review.

Minors + Certificates

Adding a minor or certificate to your academic program is an excellent way to customize your degree plans and specialize in areas in which you're interested. Cliffe College offers nearly 20 minors and certificates from which you can choose, and our flexible curricula make it possible for you to study what you love.

You might pursue a minor or certificate to explore a subject about which you're passionate or dive deeper into an area that will complement your major. Either way, a minor or certificate will help you build skills and prepare to achieve your life and career goals.

Graduate degrees

Degree Types

Graduate degree requirements are detailed in the University Graduate College Catalog.

 

The College offers the Master of Music (M.M.) in music education (fully online program) and performance.

Admission to all M.M. degrees includes specific music requirements.
