The Beecher Art & Technology Lecture Series welcomes innovative thinkers in the world of art to tell their stories and inspire students on campus to create and be creative. Presentations are held throughout the academic year and may be hosted in-person or virtually. All events are free and open to the public.

Stefanie Posavec 

Stefanie Posavec is a creative director, artist, and author. She focuses on reimagining how data is communicated, and crafts immersive and interactive experiences. Her goal is to inspire dialogue, enhance understanding, and create connections through innovative data-driven approaches.  
   

Blise Orr 

Blise Orr is a multidisciplinary practitioner who focuses on digital culture and the ethics of technology. Her work breaks away from the traditional boundaries of architecture, reexamining what it means to be considered an architect in today's modern era.   
 

Shirley Wu 

Shirley Wu is a Chinese-American artist, award-winning Data Strategy and visualiztion expert, software engineer, and published author.

Johannes DeYoung 

Johannes DeYoung is a multidisciplinary artist and filmmaker whose work focuses on the intersection of computational and material processes. He is the co-founder of the periodic web journal Lookie-Lookie and works as an assistant professor of electronic and time-based media at Carnegie Mellon University.  
 

 

 

Ian Nagoski 

Ian Nagoski is a music researcher and record producer based in Maryland. For more than a decade, he has produced dozens of reissues of early 20th century recordings in languages other than English for miscellaneous music labels.

Paolo Pedercini 

Paolo Pedercini is a game developer, artist, and educator whose artistic practice focuses on the relationship between electronic entertainment and ideology. He produces videogames that address various social issues such as environmental justice, religion, labor, and alienation.
