Professor of music Ewelina Boczkowska co-edited the book, “Music, Collective Memory, Trauma, and Nostalgia in European Cinema After the Second World War” with Michael Baumgartner. The book also includes her article, “Chopin Meant Everything to Us Then.”
Utrecht Early Music Festival
The baroque ensemble ACRONYM, led by associate professor of music Kivie Cahn-Lipman, made its European debut in the Netherlands at the 2019 Utrecht Early Music Festival.
“Blue Is More Than a Color”
Professor of music Dave Morgan released a new album, “Blue Is More Than a Color.” The recording features seven tracks performed by 30 musicians, including several YSU faculty, alumni, and current students.
“It Had to Be You”
Associate professor of theatre Katherine Garlick designed and built costumes for Pittsburgh’s South Park Theatre’s production of “It Had to Be You.” Garlick also presented a clinic on costume rendering techniques at the annual United States Institute for Theatre Technology Conference.
Super Bowl LIII
Professor of music Stephen Gage and over two dozen YSU alumni, faculty, staff, and students recorded the musical orchestration for the singing of “American the Beautiful” by Chloe and Halle during the Super Bowl LIII pregame ceremony.
