The McDonough Museum of Art will display the work of interactive artist Ken Rinaldo in a new exhibit titled “Scatter Surge” beginning Friday, January 24 through Saturday, March 7. Rinaldo will also present an artist lecture Monday, February 3 at 5:10 PM at the museum.

Rinaldo is a contemporary artist and professor who teaches interactive robotics, biological art, 2D and 3D animation, 3D modeling, and rapid prototyping and broad art practices at The Ohio State University’s College of Arts & Sciences.

Rinaldo is internationally recognized for his interactive art installations that develop hybrid ecologies with human, plant, and animal imagery, which serve as models and experiments for thinking about complex social, biological, and machine symbionts that are arising in the world.

Rinaldo’s works have been commissioned by numerous museums, festivals, and galleries, including Canada’s Museum of Contemporary Art, the World Ocean Museum in Finland, and the Itau Cultural Museum in San Francisco.

Entry to the exhibit is free and open to the public. The McDonough Museum is open from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM Tuesday through Saturday.
