His debut solo album “Songs of Orpheus” was released on the AVIE label to international acclaim and was awarded the 2019 GRAMMY Award for best classical solo vocal album.

Sulayman released his second solo album “Where Only Stars Can Hear Us” with Yang in March on the AVIE label. The album debuted at number one on the Billboard Traditional Classical Chart.

Yang has appeared at festivals and series such as the Boston Early Music Festival, the New York Philharmonic Ensembles Series, and the Serenata of Santa Fe Series. Yang has received grants from The Mustard Seed Foundation’s Harvey Fellowship and The Dutch Ministry of Culture’s Huygen’s Award.
