Judith Rae Solomon Gallery to exhibit work by Serbian-American artist Natalija Mijatovic

The Judith Rae Solomon Gallery will exhibit the work of Serbian-American artist Natalija Mijatovic in a new exhibit titled “Of Snow and Sorrow,” which will be open to the public beginning Monday, March 25.
Mijatovic received a Bachelor of Fine Arts from the University of Montenegro and a Master of Fine Arts in painting from the Pennsylvania Academy of Fine Arts. She has exhibited internationally in numerous solo and invitational exhibitions, including those at the CUE Art Foundation in New York, the Museum of American Art in Philadelphia, and Moderne Kunst Aus Montenegro in Austria.
Mijatovic has been the recipient of numerous international awards, including the Joan Mitchell Foundation M.F.A. Grant, a Faculty Excellence Award from the Savannah College of Art and Design, and a residency at Cité Internationale des Arts (International City of the Arts) in Paris, France. She is currently a professor and chair of the Department of Art at Binghamton University in New York.
“Of Snow and Sorrow” considers quiet voids, repetition, and memory. An opening reception and gallery talk for the exhibit will be held Tuesday, March 26 from 4:00 – 5:30 PM at the Solomon Gallery, located on the second floor of Bliss Hall. Entry to the gallery is free and open to the public from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.
