Alumni Spotlight: Kristi Yazvac Kristi Yazvac graduated from YSU with a Bachelor of Science in Mathematics with a minor in Spanish in May 2015. She also received a Master of Arts in Economics in May 2016. |

Alumni Spotlight: Dr. Emily Hoopes-Boyd Emily Hoopes-Boyd graduated from YSU with a Bachelor of Science in Education May 2017 and a Master of Science in Mathematics in May 2018. In May 2021, Emily graduated from her PhD program in Mathematics at Kent State University and successfully defended her dissertation in October 2021. |
| Careers in Math: Opportunities Abound! Public perception of mathematics careers is often limited to teaching, at either the high school or college level. While this is a noble career path for mathematics students, there are plenty of other opportunities for mathematics majors in the public and private sector. |

YSU STEM Co-op of the Year: Oluwatumininu Adeeko Oluwatumininu (Tumi) Adeeko is a third-year student and a Mechanical Engineering major, originally from Nigeria. Tumi was selected as a Wen H. Ko summer intern to work with the Advanced Platform Technology (APT) Center at the Cleveland VA Medical Research and Education Foundation from June 2021. |

YSU STEM Intern of the Year: Cole Sexton Cole Sexton is a fourth-year undergraduate student majoring in Chemical Engineering and minoring in both Mathematics and Chemistry. During the summer of 2021, he interned with Lordstown Motors to learn about the automotive industry. Cole worked in the Paint Shop of the plant. |
