McDonough director to be awarded YSU Distinguished Service Award

Claudia Berlinski, director of the McDonough Museum of Art, will be awarded a YSU Distinguished Service Award at the annual Faculty and Staff Showcase Tuesday, April 30 in the Chestnut Room of Kilcawley Center.
Berlinski, a native of Buffalo, New York, holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts in printmaking from Buffalo State College and a Master of Fine Arts in printmaking from The Ohio State University. Before beginning her tenure as museum director, Berlinski served as a professor of art in YSU’s Department of Art for over 20 years.
As director, Berlinski’s main responsibility is the management of the operational and programmatic functions of the museum, including the development of university-related educational and public programs, promotional activities, and community outreach.
Berlinski has exhibited her work regionally, nationally, and internationally, curates and adjudicates group exhibitions, and contributes to print portfolio exchanges. Her art is included in several public and private collections worldwide.
Tickets to the showcase are $30 for adults and $15 for children. Doors open at 5:00 PM. Dinner will begin at 6:00 PM with award presentations to follow.
