YSU printmaking students spend summer abroad in Scotland
July 31, 2023
Students from the YSU Department of Art printmaking program studied abroad July 1 – 31, 2023 at the Glasgow Print Studio in Glasgow, Scotland. The month-long program was sponsored by the YSU Department of Art, Cliffe College, and Red Press Collaborative.
Accompanying the students during their trip were professor of art Joseph D’Uva and associate professor of art Johnathan Farris, who led weekly class excursions throughout the Scotland region to different exhibitions, museums, and significant landmarks, including Stirling Castle, Kelvingrove Art Museum, and the Highlands. Farris also led an on-site, immersion-style Art and Architectural History course.
While studying at the world-renowned studio, students gathered source material and images detailing their explorations during the trip. These pieces will be combined into an exhibition, to be revealed at a later date.
