University Theatre to open 2024-25 season with comedic “On the Verge”
September 18, 2024
YSU’s University Theatre will open its 2024-25 with “On the Verge,” an adventurous comedy originally written by Eric Overmyer.
Directed by senior lecturer Todd Dicken, this production follows the whimsical journey of three intrepid women explorers—Mary, Fanny, and Alex—as they traverse Terra Incognita, a new, unexplored area of land. From negotiating with chameleonic cannibals to encountering eccentric trolls, this show promises to be a unique theatrical experience.
“We are thrilled to launch the season with this imaginative and thought-provoking production, ” Dicken said. “The characters’ exploration mirrors our own efforts to navigate both the past and the future, making this play both timeless and relevant.”
Cast members include Emalee Chappa, Hawkins, Texas; Chloe Downey, New Waterford, Ohio; Mallory Ehrhart, Antwerp, Ohio; and Sam Law, Hudson, Ohio.
Performances will be held October 4 – 6 and 11 – 13 in the YSU Ford Theater, located in Bliss Hall. Friday and Saturday performances will be held at 7:30 PM, with Sunday performances beginning at 2:00 PM.
University Theatre offers both season subscription and single-show tickets. Season subscriptions are $59 for adults; $44 for seniors (65+); $19 for children (18 and under); and $34 for YSU faculty and staff with a valid ID.
