University Theatre announces production slate for 2026-27 season

YSU’s University Theatre has announced that its 2026-27 season will be comprised of four productions, spanning mystery, musical comedy, and a showcase of graduating talent.
The season will open with “Ravenscroft,” a gothic mystery-comedy, running October 2 – 4 and 9 – 11 at Spotlight Theater. The production will follow a police inspector investigating a death in a remote manor house, where she finds herself entangled with five women—who each offer their own version of events.
Based on the classic board game, “Clue, The Musical” will follow Miss Scarlet, Colonel Mustard, Professor Plum, and the rest of the suspects as they sing and scheme their way through the murder of Mr. Boddy—with the audience helping decide whodunit. Attendees can see “Clue” at the YSU Ford Theater November 13 – 15 and 20 – 22.
The spring semester will begin with “And Then There Were None,” Agatha Christie’s classic mystery, March 12 – 14 and 19 – 21 at the YSU Ford Theater. Ten strangers will be lured to an isolated island mansion, where they begin to die one by one before the production comes to a suspenseful conclusion.
The season will conclude April 15 – 17 at the Spotlight Theater with a Cabaret performance and senior project showcase, spotlighting the University Theatre department’s graduating students in a final program before commencement.

Season subscriptions are available for purchase for $55, with discounts available for members of the YSU Alumni Society and Penguin Club, YSU faculty, staff, and retirees, and non-YSU students. Single tickets will go on sale Monday, August 31, at 10:00 AM. Adult tickets are $16, with a special $12 rate available for non-YSU students, YSU alumni, senior citizens, Penguin Club members, and groups of eight (8) or more.
YSU students receive free admission to all University Theatre productions with a valid student ID.
