Professor awarded for dedication to exceptional, innovative teaching

Associate professor of theatre Katherine Garlick was awarded a 2020-21 Distinguished Professor Award for Excellence in Teaching by the YSU Academic Affairs Division April 7, 2021.
Garlick teaches courses in costume construction and craft, production design for stage and screen, stage makeup, and theatre history. An example of the design process she teaches may be viewed here.
Faculty who earn YSU Distinguished Professorship Awards in Teaching have consistently demonstrated the highest levels of excellence in teaching, mentorship, open-mindedness, independence and integrity, intense interest in students, as well as sensitivity to student interests and the transmission of intellectual enthusiasm to students.
