YSU’s University Theatre will present “Elegies: A Song Cycle,” the program’s second virtual show of the semester, November 13 – 15 and 20 – 22.

Created by William Finn, “Elegies” originally premiered following the September 11, 2001, terrorist attacks on the World Trade Center in New York. The production focuses on the emotional aftermath of that event and the AIDS epidemic of the 1980s.

Directed by Maria Fenty Denison, the show’s cast members include Torrance Bajuszick, Leah Beckert, Savannah Bell, Lexi Cerny, Machiah Davis, Lexi Denney, Adrienne Day, Adam Dominick, Belle Elliot, Lacey Farina, Samantha Gurd, Erica Hays, Cassidy Hopkins, Kyle Hudson, Morgan LaCamera, Noah Landry, Destiny Magee, Mia Matthews, Sydney Moore, Taryn Patterson, Hannah Rosser, Donovan Rubante, Kamryn Rudolph, Dagmar Stahl, Destinee Thompson, and Haley Tura.

The cast will be joined by associate professor of music Kivie-Cahn Lipman and two local theatre veterans, Maureen Collins and James McClellan. Collins is the co-founder of East Street Productions and McClellan has worked with several Mahoning Valley arts organizations during his career.

The production staff includes choreographer Amy Wright; scenic designer Todd Dicken; costume and makeup designer Katherine Garlick; production manager and technical director Ryan Fitzpatrick; sound recording engineer Jack Ciraniello; lighting designer Tim Grich; video production supervisor Ryan Donchess; video production coordinator Miles Douglass Garrett; and properties manager Wendy Akers.

The show’s Friday and Saturday performances will begin at 7:30 PM, with the two Sunday matinee performances beginning at 2:00 PM. Tickets are $10 for a single viewer, $25 for group viewing or a watch party, and free for YSU students, faculty, and staff with a valid ID. Tickets can be purchased here.
