Pipino Performing Arts Series to welcome René Izquierdo

November 9, 2021

The Donald P. Pipino Performing Arts Series will welcome classical guitarist René Izquierdo to campus Saturday and Sunday, November 13 and 14.

Izquierdo will present a free masterclass November 13 at 3:00 PM in YSU’s Bliss Recital Hall and will perform a concert November 14 at 3:00 PM in the North Hall of The Butler Institute of American Art.

“The Pipino Performing Arts Series is proud to continue our tradition of presenting artists with diverse cultural and performance backgrounds,” Cliffe College of Creative Arts dean Phyllis Paul said.

Izquierdo is a Cuban-born artist who has established himself as one of the world’s most talented classical guitarists. He has performed to critical acclaim, touring throughout North and South America, Europe, and Asia on stages such as Carnegie Hall in New York, the Manaus Opera House in Brazil, and the National Recital Hall in Taiwan.

Entry to the masterclass is free and open to the public. Tickets to the concert are $20 for adults, $15 for senior citizens, YSU faculty and staff, and $5.25 for teenagers. Children 12 and under and YSU students are free. Tickets may be purchased ahead of time at www.deyorpac.org.
