August 27, 2024
The McDonough Museum of Art will open its fall 2024 exhibition season with “Legacy: 58 Years of YSU Art,” to be on display from Tuesday, September 3 through Saturday, October 26.
Featuring projects by current and past Department of Art faculty and staff, the exhibit is an exploration of innovation and tradition that imparts new vision and reinvestigates long-standing practices in the fields of art and design.
The exhibition’s artists are not only sharing their knowledge and expertise with the next generation of students within their classrooms, but they are also using their creative energies to maintain a high level of professional practice, creating works that have been on display throughout the country. The exhibit is an opportunity for the YSU campus and local community to celebrate these visual artists who, for over 50 years, have dedicated their talents to the Department of Art by helping inspire the future of the arts in the region.
The artists included in this exhibition include Samuel Adu-Poku; Claudia Berlinski; Joy Christiansen Erb; Amy Copeland; Dragana Crnjak; Debra DeGregorio; Joseph D’Uva; Chauncey Hay; Ashley Johnston; Alyssa Keil; Russell Maddick; Missy McCormick; Christine McCullough; Richard Mitchell; Greg Moring; Michael Moseley; Michelle Nelson; John Guy Petruzzi; Stephanie Rhodes; Susan Russo; Dana Sperry; and Amanda Spinosa.
An opening reception for the exhibit will be held Friday, September 6, from 5:00 – 7:00 PM at the museum. Entry to the exhibit and reception are free and open to the public. The McDonough Museum is open from 11:00 AM – 4:00 PM Tuesday through Saturday.
