Solomon Gallery to host annual NE Ohio Scholastics Art Exhibition
January 3, 2026
YSU’s Judith Rae Solomon Gallery will once again host the annual Northeastern Ohio Scholastics Art Exhibition beginning Wednesday, January 7, through Saturday, January 24.
The Scholastic Art and Writing Awards, created by the Alliance for Young Artists and Writers, is a national competition in which middle and high school students can submit original visual or literary pieces. Exhibitions presenting the award-winning works are held in regions across the United States, with the northeast Ohio exhibition being curated by YSU alumnus and high school teacher Josh MacMillan.
All submissions to the competition are eligible for awards, and the northeastern Ohio winners will be recognized during the Northeastern Ohio Scholastics Award Ceremony January 24 at YSU’s Ford Theater. Any entries that win a Gold Key, the highest honor, are automatically considered for national awards that will be showcased across the country.
Entry to this exhibit is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the Wick Avenue Deck (M30) for a $5 fee payable in cash only. The Solomon Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
