Guest artist Michael Loderstedt to exhibit in Solomon Gallery

The Judith Rae Solomon Gallery, located in YSU’s Bliss Hall, will welcome guest artist Michael Loderstedt to campus as he presents his work in an exhibition titled “Island of Little Truths” beginning Wednesday, September 25, through Wednesday, October 23.
Loderstedt has been creating original prints, photographs, installations, and books for over 30 years. His work, which investigates the geography, histories, and natural phenomena of particular sites and events, is featured in several public collections, including at The Cleveland Museum of Art, the Kupferstich-Kabinett in Germany, the Cleveland Clinic Foundation, and the Akron Art Museum.
Loderstedt has completed international residencies at the Frans Masereel Centrum in Kasterlee, Belgium, and the Grafikwerkstat in Dresden, Germany. His work has been included in both solo and group exhibitions, including at the Santa Reparata Galler in Florence, Italy, the Alte Feuerwache Galerie in Loschwitz, Germany, and as part of the “Portrait 100 Project” in Hellerau, Germany.
Loderstedt received his Bachelor of Fine Arts in printmaking from East Carolina University and his Master of Fine Arts from Kent State University. He is a Professor Emeritus of the Kent State University School of Art, where he also served as interim director.
The Judith Rae Solomon Gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Entry to this exhibit is free and open to the public.
