“Postcard Exhibition” to open in Judith Rae Solomon Gallery

February 20, 2024

The Judith Rae Solomon Gallery, located on the second floor of Bliss Hall, will present the “Postcard Exhibition” beginning Monday, February 26 through Sunday, March 31.

The exhibition serves as a celebration of Youth Art Month, which runs the whole month of March. The artwork will focus on the postcard era of the 1900s.

Local high school students from Mahoning and Trumbull counties were invited to create a work of art on a postcard-sized piece of paper, similar to something that could be sent through the mail. In the spirit of the postcard era, students showcased their talent using mediums of their choosing. Some entries mimic traditional postcards, highlighting a destination, while others are themed around the artists’ personal interests.

An opening reception for the exhibit will be held at the gallery Monday, February 26 from 5:30 – 6:30 PM. The gallery is open Monday through Friday from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Entry to the exhibit and reception is free and open to the public.
