The YSU Dana School of Music’s Wind Ensemble, directed by associate professor of music Michael Butler, will present its fall concert, titled “American Voices,” Sunday, November 24, at 4:00 PM at Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown.

The ensemble will perform a variety of songs by American composers during the concert, including “Amazing Grace,” arranged by William Himes, and “El Camino Real” by Alfred Reed.

Joining the 40-person student Wind Ensemble will be Benjamin Hemming, a graduate conductor; Dr. Kate Ferguson, a guest conductor; and professor of music and pianist Caroline Oltmanns, who will join the ensemble for a special performance of George Gershwin’s “Rhapsody in Blue” in celebration of its 100th anniversary.

Tickets for this event can be purchased here and cost $5 for adults, $4 for seniors (65+), and are free for YSU students with a valid ID. Parking is available on-site.
