YSU Wind Ensemble and Concert Band to perform at Stambaugh Auditorium

YSU’s Dana School of Music will present its Wind Ensemble and Concert Band in concert Sunday, November 23, at 4:00 PM at Stambaugh Auditorium.
Under the direction of Dr. Kate Ferguson, the evening will open with the Concert Band’s performance of selections including Katahj Copley’s contemporary “Backlash,” Ralph Vaughan Williams’ “English Folk Song Suite” arranged by Ed Huckeby, and “Candlelight Carol” by John Rutter, arranged by Jay Dawson.
The Concert Band will also perform John Philip Sousa’s “Mother Hubbard March” and a festive arrangement of “Dashing Through the Snow,” based on the classic “Jingle Bells.”
The Wind Ensemble, directed by Dr. Michael S. Butler, will open the second half of the evening with works including Ryan George’s “Firefly,” the late David Maslanka’s “Traveler,” and Dennis Llinás' energetic "La Chancla.”
