Dana School of Music professor named recipient of Distinguished Professorship Award

Professor of music Caroline Oltmanns has been named a recipient of a Distinguished Professorship Award for the 2020-21 academic year.
Provided by YSU’s Office of Academic Affairs, Oltmanns was awarded for Excellence in Scholarship. These awards are given to YSU faculty members each academic year in recognition of their outstanding achievements.
An International Steinway Artist and Fulbright Scholar, Oltmanns holds degrees from the Staatliche Musikhochschule Freiburg and the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. She has been mentored by Robert Levin, John Perry, Vitaly Margulis, and Malcolm Frager.
Oltmanns has recorded and released six solo CDs on the Filia Mundi label, with the most recent titled “Ghosts” featuring Robert Schumanns. Her playing has been broadcast globally on radio and TV stations, and she serves as a jury member of numerous national and international competitions, including the Cleveland International Piano Competition.
