Dana School of Music professor awarded Research Professorship

Dana School of Music professor Caroline Oltmanns has been awarded a Research Professorship from the YSU Office of Academic Affairs for the 2022-23 academic year.
Her research, titled “Theme and Variations, Passacaglias and Chaconnes,” will be completed over a period six credit hours throughout the year.
An International Steinway Artist and Fulbright Scholar, Oltmanns holds degrees from the Staatliche Musikhochschule Freiburg and the University of Southern California, Los Angeles. She has been mentored by Robert Levin, John Perry, Vitaly Margulis, and Malcolm Frager.
Oltmanns has recorded and released six solo CDs on the Filia Mundi label, with the most recent titled “Ghosts” featuring Robert Schumanns. Her playing has been broadcast globally on radio and TV stations, and she serves as a jury member of numerous national and international competitions, including the Cleveland International Piano Competition.
