Dana School of Music to host Flute Festival at Bliss Hall
April 7, 2025

YSU’s Dana School of Music will host the YSU Flute Festival Saturday, April 12, from 9:00 AM – 4:00 PM at the Bliss Recital Hall, located in YSU’s Bliss Hall.
This event will feature guest artist Anne Harrow, a soloist, chamber musician, and orchestral performer. She is an associate professor of flute and piccolo and head of the Chamber Music department at the Eastman School of Music.
Attendees will be provided the opportunity to enhance their techniques through specialized training sessions led by YSU professors Emily Sapa and Stephanie Dennis. Harrow will also lead a workshop, masterclass, and recital.
The event will conclude with a Flute Choir Concert performed by Dana School of Music flutists and the High School Honors Flute Choir. The high school ensemble is an opportunity for students in grades 9 through 12 to rehearse and perform a musical piece written for the advanced Flute Ensemble in a side-by-side setting with Dana School of Music flutists.
Pre-registration for this event is free and open to the public and can be completed here. Please arrive on-site at 8:30 AM on April 12 to begin registering for the day’s events.
