Dana School of Music to host first annual YSU Percussion Invitational

YSU’s Dana School of Music will host the first-ever annual YSU Percussion Invitational Saturday, March 21, from 12:30 to 5:00 PM at Ford Theater, located in YSU’s Bliss Hall.
This event will bring together high school and college ensembles and soloists from across the region for an afternoon of performances. Participating groups include ensembles from YSU, Baldwin Wallace University, Kent State University, the University of Akron, and Slippery Rock University, alongside high school groups from Cuyahoga Falls, Brunswick, Olmsted Falls, Westlake, Bay Village, Canfield, Poland Seminary, Norwin, and North Allegheny, as well as Mount Lebanon and individual guest solo artists
Among the featured percussion ensembles performing in the afternoon program are Lakeview High School, under the direction of Tyler Husosky; Canfield High School, directed by Dylan Kollat; Poland Seminary High School, directed by Matt Hayes; the Stambaugh Youth Concern Band Percussion Ensemble, also directed by Husosky; and the YSU Percussion Ensemble, directed by Dr. Glenn Schaft.
The invitational will conclude with a mass drum circle featuring all participating performers.
Entry to this event is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the Wick Avenue Deck (M30) for a $5 fee payable in cash only.
