Dana School of Music to hold Wind Ensemble concert with Dana alumni

The Dana School of Music will welcome back 60 of its own distinguished alumni to perform alongside students in the school’s first Wind Ensemble concert of the school year.
Under the direction of professor of music Michael S. Butler, the program will begin with the Wind Ensemble performing a diverse selection of repertoire themed “Song and Dance,” featuring music by Andrew Boysen, Frank Ticheli, Michael Gandolfi, Jack End, and Reinhold Gliere. The Dana alumni will then perform Boysen’s “Conversations with the Night” before joining the Wind Ensemble to conclude the program with Alfred Reed’s “Russian Christmas Music.”
The concert will be held Sunday, October 6, at 4:00 PM at the Powers Auditorium, located within the DeYor Performing Arts Center in downtown Youngstown. Tickets for the performance can be purchased online at DeYorPAC.org or by calling 330.259.9651. YSU students receive a free ticket with a valid YSU ID.
