The YSU Dana School of Music’s Jazz Studies Area will present its fall concert to the public Monday, November 25, at 7:30 PM in Ford Theater, located in YSU’s Bliss Hall. The concert will feature the YSU Jazz Ensemble, directed by professor of music Kent Engelhardt.

The ensemble will feature a variety of jazz staples at the concert, including “Fancy Pants” by Sammy Nestico, “This Bass Was Made For Walkin’” by Thad Jones, “Lazy Day” by Bob Mintzer, and “Haitian Fight Song” by Charles Mingus.

Vocalist Elizabeth Jadue will accompany the ensemble, singing “Softly, As In a Morning Sunrise,” as arranged by YSU undergraduate student Aaron White, and “Better,” as arranged by YSU graduate student Andrea Richard. The Jazz Ensemble and Jadue will conclude the evening with a performance of “Cool Yule” by Steve Allen.

Entry to this event is free and open to the public. Parking is available in the Wick Avenue Deck (M30) for a $5 fee payable in cash only.
