Dana Chorale to present spring concert in YSU Ford Theater
March 26, 2025

YSU’s Dana School of Music will present its annual Dana Spring Choral Concert, featuring the Dana Chorale, titled “Illuminating Harmony in Light and Unity” Monday, March 31, at 7:30 PM at St. Columba Cathedral.
Directed by associate professor of Hae-Jong Lee and accompanied by pianist Da-Eun Choi, the chorale will perform musical selections that reflect the rich diversity of its program, which spans various cultures and languages. Highlighting the central theme of “light,” the concert will aim to honor the significance of Morten Lauridsen’s “Lux Aeterna” as the centerpiece of the event.
The concert will be split into five sections, each with its own theme: “Eternal Light,” “Dreams and Serenity,” “Folk Impressions,” “Global Voices,” and “Spiritual Journeys.” Musical selections include Lauridsen’s “Lux Aeterna,” “I Dream a World” by André J. Thomas, and “Let There Be Peace on Earth,” arranged by Jay Althouse.
The Dana Chorale will conclude the spring semester in a partnership performance with the Stambaugh Chorus and Orchestra titled “Giving Voice to Peace VI.” The event will be held at the St. Joseph Roman Catholic Parish in Austintown.
Entry to the Dana Spring Choral Concert is free and open to the public. Parking is available on-site.
