Ableton Live Certified Trainers to bring inclusive music-making workshop to YSU
September 11, 2025

YSU’s Dana School of Music will welcome Ableton Live Certified Trainer and artist Feral Kitty to YSU for a groundbreaking workshop and performance Wednesday, September 24, from 10:30 AM – 5:30 PM at the McDonough Museum of Art.
The event, titled “Everyone Can Make Music,” will combine keynote storytelling, live electronic performance, and practical demonstrations within Ableton Live, the world-renowned software that has revolutionized the creation, teaching, and performance of music. Feral Kitty will be joined by other Ableton Certified Trainers Will Kuhn, President of TI:ME, and James Patrick, founder of Slam Academy.
"The traditional ways we've taught music have left too many people behind," Kitty said. "But with tools like Live, and with teaching methods that prioritize creativity and access, anyone can discover their musical voice."
Ableton Certified Trainers are expert musicians, producers, and educators who are officially recognized for their mastery of Live and their ability to teach it effectively. As such, this workshop is designed for producers, educators, students, and the general public. Prior music experience is not required to attend the event.
