Dragana Crnjak is a Serbian-American interdisciplinary artist whose practice is guided by the fundamental inquiries of painting and drawing with a meticulous focus on surface, mark-making, color, and spatial dynamics. She earned her MFA in Painting and Printmaking from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia in 2004. She is a distinguished recipient of four Ohio Arts Council Individual Excellence Awards in Visual Arts, a Distinguished Professorship in Scholarship at Youngstown State University, and a Virginia Museum of Fine Arts Professional Fellowship.
Her artwork has been showcased in exhibitions across the United States and abroad, including United States Embassies in Belgrade, Serbia and Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Akron Art Museum, University of Chicago, Herron School of Art and Design, Kathryn Markel Gallery in New York City, and is featured in numerous private and public collections. Currently, Crnjak serves as Professor of Art at Youngstown State University, where she teaches painting and drawing.
