Step into the vibrant world of Graphic + Interactive Design in the Department of Art at Youngstown State University! Our dynamic Bachelor of Fine Arts (B.F.A.) program ignites creativity and equips students with the tools to shape the design landscape. The program explores typography, illustration, layout design, identity systems, package design, motion graphics, and web design. Our alumni are Emmy® Award-winning designers, creative directors, UX designers, marketing specialists, business owners, and more—reinventing visual communication and interaction for organizations across the globe.

Design spaces that support creative development

Graphic + Interactive Design (G+ID) students work in collaborative workspaces dedicated to design instruction, inspiration, and critique. As a G+ID student, you’ll have stationary access to the cutting-edge technology and equipment you’ll need to thrive, including Mac workstations and peripherals, the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite, access to large format printers, and more tools that augment your development as a designer.

Incoming Department of Art students may apply for additional scholarships here. These scholarships supplement other YSU awards as well as any additional financial aid. Department of Art students may apply for art-specific scholarships each academic year.
