Department of Art Exhibitions

Graduating B.F.A. Exhibition

Students in the Department of Art work closely with nationally and internationally known faculty engaged in a broad range of art and design practices. The Graduating B.F.A. Exhibition is an opportunity for students to share the original and innovative discoveries they have made in their artistic journeys, communicating to the public their creative expressions of human experience. At the culmination of each fall and spring semester we celebrate the creative accomplishments of our graduating seniors from each studio art area with this dynamic exhibition.

Annual Juried Student Art & Design Exhibition

The juried exhibition is yearly tradition featuring works by students enrolled in the Department of Art at Youngstown State University. It is an opportunity for students to gain the knowledge and experience of entering a show that is judged by an arts professional. Local businesses and individuals generously support this annual event and its talented artists by contributing cash awards and gift certificates. The exhibition takes place each spring semester and work can be submitted in the categories of ceramics, photography, printmaking, painting, drawing/illustration, sculpture, mixed media, digital media/video, and graphic + interactive design.

Department of Art Faculty and Staff Exhibition

Happening every four years, the Department of Art Faculty and Staff Exhibition is an exploration of innovation and tradition that imparts new vision and re-investigates long standing practices in the fields of Art and Design. These artists not only share their knowledge and expertise with the next generation but also use their creative energies to maintain a high level of professional practice creating works that have been on display throughout the country. This is an opportunity for the campus and local community to celebrate these visual artists who have dedicated their talents to Department of Art helping to inspire the future of the arts in our region.
