Lit Youngstown

Lit Youngstown is a community-based literary arts nonprofit for writers, readers, and storytellers. Their vision is that readers, writers, and storytellers of all levels, backgrounds, and genre interests advance their craft, learn from each other, and grow creatively in community. Lit Youngstown believes in the transformative power of the written word to inspire diverse and authentic voices, which in turn enrich our Youngstown community.

The McDonough Museum has partnered with Lit Youngstown to host the Fall Literary Fest. This annual event is a high-quality conference of award-winning writers and dozens of concurrent sessions on writing, reading, understanding, teaching, editing, publishing, and performing creative work. The “gathering in” evening takes place at the museum and in the past has included poetry readings with an open mic event. The McDonough holds not only conference sessions but also the bookfair, which includes small presses, booksellers, and organizations. We are proud to be a part of supporting the literary arts in our collaboration with Lit Youngstown.
