The Links, Incorporated

The Youngstown (OH) Chapter is committed to enriching and sustaining the culture and survival of persons of African ancestry in Mahoning/ Trumbull County. The Youngstown Chapter of The Links, Incorporated founded in 1955, is one of the oldest and largest volunteer service organizations, in Mahoning and Trumbull County, of women who are committed to enriching, sustaining and ensuring the culture and economic survival of African Americans and other persons of African ancestry.

The McDonough Museum has collaborated with the Arts Facet of Links. The goal of The Arts Facet is to produce and support programs to enrich the quality of life of youth and communities through educational and engaging art experiences while transforming communities. The Museum has had several workshops for students from the Youngstown Rayen Early College Middle School and seniors from the Youngstown chapter of The Links. Each spring since 2022 we hold an ekphrastic writing workshop using our gallery exhibitions as inspiration, as well as numerous visual arts making sessions. The McDonough has also displayed their year-long arts projects for the past two summers.
